Blue Orange Green Pink Purple

A glimpse of us!

Floored!!!!

Ok, quick post here...just am floored about something. A bit outraged maybe even.
Shocked.

I just watched the movie "Made of Honor".
I liked it.
It was pretty cute.
Like many that came before it, but still cute.

Here's the thing though...
they said "the P word" yes, the actual word, THAT word....probably 5 times or more in a conversation.
AND they dropped "the F bomb".

AND THE MOVIE IS RATED PG13!!!!!!!

FOR REAL?
That is what my cover of it says...PG 13!
Simply why? Because there is no violence?
No OBVIOUS sex or nudity?
Plenty of it is implied.

Seriously though folks...
The "P word" repeatedly
The "F bomb"
and it's PG13????

I am SOOO glad I didn't have a teenager in the room while we watched it!

ok, I'll calm down now.

Good Ole' Medina!

Today we did our family trip to the Medina Pumpkin Patch (Love Creek Orchards).
This place is just so much fun!
Last year Caleb even said "The Pumpkin Patch is better than Christmas!"
He obviously really loves going and we go AT LEAST twice. Once to Medina (most years) and once to another patch (a little closer). Over the years we've been to quite a few.
Today it was Medina, and as a family.
It was fabulous.
The weather was perfect.
The kids were VERY well behaved.
EVERYONE enjoyed themselves!
YEA YEA YEA!

Here are some photos of our fun: (and keep in mind I have NOT done any photo adjusting or anything to these, I figured I'd go ahead and just upload them as is...or I'd never get it done! I also narrowed it down. I think I took about 180 photos today!)

LOOOOVE the show!

There is only ONE show that I religiously watch each year.
Ok, two...but one of them is "24" and it hasn't been around in almost 2 years...
SO...the one I watch, DVR to watch later is
THE BIGGEST LOSER
Have you seen it?
I just love this show!
I love that it is truly motivating people all over our country to get up and lose weight.
Don't think it is?
It is in this house.
There are a few things Brandon and I are going to try to do differently:
1~we're making our lunches for the entire week at the start of the week. In the refrigerator will be tupperware containers for each day, for each of us. We planned our menu together and I did all of the shopping today. Tonight we cook and prepare. Not extravagant things, just things like chicken salad (from a rotisserie chicken), grilled chick. breasts with steamed veggies, tuna salad, etc. He's eating lunch out too much (money and calories) and I'm throwing together something boring each morning for myself, if anything at all. This should help the wallet and waist.
2~I'm choosing dinners for the week from a LowFat cookbook
3~one of the "Trainer Tidbits" was to do jumping jacks while the commercials played. Every time, for the entire show.
We did it.
It was EXHAUSTING.
I never thought jumping jacks could be that much of a workout (yes, this shows the kind of shape I am in). It was! And my calves are sore today!!!!
4~we usually snack late at night. Brandon snacks repeatedly actually. Last night when Brandon said "Hey, do you want some triscuits?" I said "NO!" (it was 10:00) He said "They're healthy!" I said "We're not supposed to eat ANYTHING this late. Hey, grab a pack of the Extra we bought today." So, we did that. Just like the contestants on the show, we smacked on some fruity Extra sugarfree gum instead.
6 Triscuits would have been 120 calories.
Extra gum instead was only 5.
Works for me!
5~ we've promised each other that we will do SOME SORT of excercise each day. Even if it is just jumping rope for few minutes before bed, it will be something. We can't really spend the money on a gym or YMCA membership right now so it's things we can do around the house. SOMETHING is better than nothing. :0)

SO...those are some of the new things we're trying out.
I'll let you know how it continues!

I am THAT Mom!

So...yesterday when making the kids' lunches I thought..."Hmm...I guess I left their totes and lunch boxes in the car.... Since Thursday..... UMMM......ok, well I am pretty sure their thermoses (is that a word?) just had water in them so we're good. I'll make the lunches, take them out and put them in their lunch boxes when we load up.".

Then in the car I found Georgia's lunch box...and it's VERY foul leakage that had spread onto the floor of the van a bit (yes, I did notice a bit of a smell over the weekend but only a bit and well... the state of my van wasn't pretty...obviously).
It appeared that Georgia's thermos had leaked and had NOT contained just water.

VERY nasty.
Very nasty lunch box.

I just took it and the thermos, carried them to the top of the driveway at the garage door and just left them there to be dealt with when we got home later.

So...no cup for Georgia.
I then looked for Caleb's but couldn't find it..so no cup for Caleb.
Worked for me!
They'd be fine with just water from their teachers.
No problem.

THEN...
fast forward to about 12:45 that afternoon.
Caleb's teacher came by my classroom.

teacher: "I have the FUNNIEST story to tell you!"
my eyebrows furrowed a bit and I slightly bit my bottom lip.
I curiously walked over to her.
teacher: "REALLY. It really was funny."
I grew ever more curious yet worried.
t: "Well, during lunch today Caleb took out his SpeedRacer cup. When he popped the top, it just sort of exploded everywhere! It truly shot out the length of three tables!"
me: "His what?..... Oh no."
t: "Yeah, it just sort of rained down on everyone. (with hands gesturing like rain) I'm guessing it must have been left in your car for a few days and I guess the pressure built up in it.....I promise though, the kids weren't upset or anything. Caleb was at first, it was ALL OVER his face. All the other kids thought it was great though! As a matter of fact the other kids said "Do it again!"
me: "ummmm....WHAT was it???"
t: "I think it had been a purple grape juice maybe?"
me: VERY embarrassed at this point "OH! So I sent wine with him? GREAT! Oh my, I am so sorry! That must have STUNK!"
t: "YEAH. It was pretty stinky. Thing was, I didn't even notice that it was spoiled. So I calmed them all down, truly, they thought it was great, and told Caleb 'Ok, that's enough. Just drink your juice.' So he took a sip and then made horrible sounds and ran to the trash can."
me: "Oh gross! I don't even know where he got the cup. I couldn't find it this morning. I am SO sorry!"
t: "I promise, it wasn't a big deal. It really was funny."
me: "Yeah..... yeah...... Glad I could bring some laughter today. Truly I was just trying to sneak you some wine." ;0)

yep, I am THAT mom.

aren't you SO jealous?

I was tagged!

A while back I was "tagged" here at a fabulous site...5$ dinners. She's awesome! If only I could make myself cook more often, really cook. I just seem to stick to really simple things. I'd love to be doing the veggies too (storing them) because I buy the bag of broccoli to steam and it's gotta be WAY cheaper to do it her way. Surely I could do some of those recipes. OK, I digress. Let me get back to

I was tagged.

Here are the rules:
So, here we go...
1. I would really like to get a nose job. There, I've said it outloud. I would. Right or wrong.... part of me would LOVE to do it.
2. I love change. I love to move (relocate) and make big changes.
3. I used to be a LOT cleaner of a wife/mom and now I am messier but getting much more organized than I EVER was.
4. I don't really like that our alphabet has the letter "C", seems pointless to me.
5. I miss working out and being in shape. I really mentally long to exercise. I just can't seem to find a way that works into my schedule, my budget, my family. Very annoying.
6. Skydiving truly felt completely natural to me. I loved every second of it and wished to do it every day. I felt completely in "my element".
7. The older my kids get, the more I enjoy being around them!

Ok, I'm going to tag 7 people now... in no particular order (except the first one, she HAS to be first. ;0)
GfG at gratefulforgrace.blogspot.com, manda at mandagirl.com, tracy at tracystaats.blogspot.com, kat at theevansfamilytx.blogspot.com, digitreats (some adorable scrapping stuff) at digitreats.typepad.com, carol at frugalfinds.blogspot.com, and Shannon (I think) at rocksinmydryer.typepad.com (she is FABULOUS!)

Actually getting some done...

Scrapping booking that is!
I haven't done any in quite a while...I'm REALLY behind.
Halloween is coming soon, pumkin patch visit too and I HAVEN'T SCAPPED LAST YEAR'S! AHHH!
A few months ago I did 14 pages...but they were for my Sis.
SO...I'm needing to get a lot done.

My friend Taira motivated me. She's doing pages, learning new techniques, etc.
We're trying to get together now on Friday mornings with our laptops to visit and scrap while the kiddos play.
YEA!

I've actually done a few spreads then since this past week. I thought I could share them. I can't put any other photos up on a post right now. :0)

They aren't my most creative ones ever (which is why I could do 7 LOs in a week) but they are getting things done!
:0)

What's extra great about this page is that I just changed the blue matte to lavender, changed the journaling a bit...and voila~there's Georgia's page! (one of the MANY fab things about digital scrapping)

Every Minute of Every Day...

About Me

cajungal01
Here I am finding myself getting closer to "middle aged" and loving life more and more. I think I learn more about myself each year and while some things I find a bit discomforting (and will work on), others I am proud of. I love how the Lord works in all of us constantly and as we each pass through various seasons of our lives he sends different people... some as mentors, some to mentor, and some to walk parallel with. I look forward to each day and what He brings with it.
