A glimpse of us!

Layouts

Maybe if I post my new layouts on my blog it will help me make sure to scrap? I hope so! I've done a few lately, albeit very simple layouts, but I HAVE to keep going! I am extremely behind. If posting them helps motivate me then that's great, if it helps give you ideas for any layouts you may need to do, even BETTER! :0)

If you aren't a scrapper, or if you are a traditional/paper scrapper...digital scrapbooking is WONDERFUL! If you want to know all of the MANY many reasons to digital scrapbook, let me know and I'll share my opinions with you. :0)

Again, many of these are simpler than I often do BUT it is helping me catch up. All of these are just from events/activities for the month of September! It was a busy month.

have a super day!

Photo Friday

Well, since I've been gone so long, I am way behind on photos! BUT....if you've seen me on FB then you've probably seen most of these. I decided to pick some of my favorites from the month of September. I can't believe September ended and October starts today, man time is flyin' by!

September was a super busy and wonderful month for us.
It started with Labor Day weekend and our family taking a little trip just for a couple of days... staying nearby. We hung out in Austin, played in the Guadalupe River, and went through the Natural Bridge Caverns. We had a wonderful time!
Then the kids and I went on our annual trip to Galveston with the Brouses and PapaLou. It was wonderful too!
With September we also have the start of the football season which means SAINTS games to me. I also enjoy watching some UT, LSU, and/or Texans as well. But SAINTS are the main thing. I watch most games with my good friend Bebe. :0) Recently we sported our Saints shirts and Buc-ees pj pants while we munched on good football food!
We had a fantastic experience watching the bats emerge from The Old Bat Tunnel one night this month and it was absolutely breath taking.
We also got our newest family member at the start of September (or maybe the last week of August...) DIXIE. She's a precious Toy Schnauzer and we all love her immensely.
Last thing for us this month is that school is in full swing for Caleb and I am hangin' with Georgia at home. We are having a blast and I was in shock when she picked up a little Bob book and read it to me! We had never read it together before so I was very surprised that she could read it independently. Since then, she is having a lot of fun reading more and more as we spend some QT together.

That's it! See you next month! ;0)

WOW, back again already!

Two posts in two days...crazy! :0)

Today is Wednesday and it's a busy day for me so I thought I'd post my "Works for Me" Wednesday post a little early this morning before running out the door. (Bible study this morning).

Today mine is really simple, and pretty cheap.
Oh and you've probably already heard about it.
maybe already even do it.

Cookie cutters.

Yep, brilliant I know.

Cookie cutters for sandwiches.

It makes my son all super excited about his lunch when he opens it up to see his PB&J in all sorts of fun shapes.
Today it is bats.
(we happen to love bats and recently got to check some out up close!)
So he has two yummy bats waiting for him to eat em' up.

I have no doubt he will love doing that!

I'm BAAAAACK!

Well hello there! If you are reading this, there is no telling how you found it as I haven't "blogged" in a super long time. Welcome back and thanks for coming by!

I am not sure what I want to do with my blog now...what sort of purpose I hope it will have. It may just be my ramblings but hopefully it will be more often.

I am blessed to be a Stay At Home Mom right now and I often find myself craving some adult conversation. I know blogging isn't exactly a "conversation" but I've been known to dominate conversations anyway...this way, nobody will get their feelings hurt! ;0)

I do plan on posting my menu for the week each Monday.

I plan on posting "Works for Me" on Wednesdays.

I plan on sharing about the multiple Bible studies I am doing (I am currently doing 3 different studies).

Other than that...no plans. We'll just see where this ride takes us.

Extreme Habit Makeover?

I've tried.

to start new habits

to convince myself to do things differently

to stay more on top of things

it just doesn't work!

I need some sort of Robin Habits Makeover!

Some sort of conference, retreat, ...SOMETHING that truly changes how I do housework.

I was not made with a built-in need for having things clean.
I truly wasn't.

I did not grow up in a house that was always clean
I did not grow up having to keep my room clean.

We cleaned the house on Saturdays. That was my Mom's big cleaning day. And she frantically cleaned until it was done. We had to help...I think. BUT I didn't have to clean my room if I didn't want to. It was my room and I could have it however I wanted. Well, since there wasn't anything in me that naturally wanted things orderly or clean...my room was...well... horrible. Dirty in every way. Stuff piled everywhere. Stuff all over the floor (couldn't ever see the floor really). Anything, anywhere.

The problem with all of that is growing up and not having any sort of habits for keeping things cleaned and/or organized.

Here I sit, taking a break from the MOUNTAIN O' LAUNDRY that I always have.
I keep saying that I am going to do a load a day or every other day and fold it and put it away immediately. BUT I don't. And it piles up.
Then I always think I'll do it on Saturday.
Which sometimes I do.

But then sometimes we make spontaneous trips to see family.
Spend the day with friends at the zoo.
Go out of town.
Various wonderful things that are much more important than cleaning.
BUT
the mountains begin getting larger.
and larger.

So now I face a guest room FULL FULL FULL of clean clothes waiting to be folded and put away.
I do this often.

SO.....how do I truly change how I am wired to start being more on top of housework?
Stop letting it pile and instead take care of it?
I'm not a fan of coming home from work every evening to cook and then clean...not leaving me anytime to spend with the kids....but there must be some way to do at least something small each night once the kids are in bed...

and how do I set that schedule...
and

STICK TO IT?

HELP!!!

Every Minute of Every Day...

About Me

cajungal01
Here I am finding myself getting closer to "middle aged" and loving life more and more. I think I learn more about myself each year and while some things I find a bit discomforting (and will work on), others I am proud of. I love how the Lord works in all of us constantly and as we each pass through various seasons of our lives he sends different people... some as mentors, some to mentor, and some to walk parallel with. I look forward to each day and what He brings with it.
